The Maldives are the absolute dream destination in the Indian Ocean. ‚Once in a lifetime‘ is what many people say, when they think of the white sand beaches and palm trees of the hundreds of little paradise islands. The reason for this are the prices. The resort islands charge their guests a lot of money, so many people look at it as a honeymoon destination. But it doesn’t always need to be a resort island. Holidays in the Maldives can be way nicer – and more affordable.
Our Hotel MYO Retreat and our dive center TGI Felidhoo are based on the fishermen’s island of Felidhoo in Vavuu Atoll. This little paradise place has been populated since thousands of years. As a guest on the island of Felidhoo, you can submerge yourself into the culture of the Maldives and experience their way of life, their food and their hospitality. You can enjoy the white sand beaches and relax in a hammock under the palm trees. The beauty of this little jewel is stunning.
MYO Retreats has 11 leisure rooms with direct access to the private beach, with all comforts and complementary amenities.
The lodge restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner preparing fusion and Italian cuisine with local fresh fish.
Amongst divers, the Maldives are well known as an absolute eldorado. For good reasons. The archipelago in the middle of the Indian Ocean is home to a great variety of corals and the amount of big fish on the reefs is just stunning. Around Felidhoo and throughout the whole Vavuu Atoll you will find world class divesites. TGI Felidhoo is diving all of these sites, including the famous Manta Point, where you will see the giant rays feeding on plankton. Also the night dive in front of the island of Alimatha is world famous. You will find hundreds of nurse sharks circling you during that dive – quite an experience.
Besides, the waters of Vavuu Atoll have so much to offer: Grey Reefsharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Whale Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Tigersharks, Whitetip Reefsharks, Blacktip Reefsharks, Manta Rays, Devil Rays, Grey Stingrays, Marble Rays, Eagle Rays, Barracudas, Tuna, Jacks, Dolphins, Whales, and of course, all the reef inhabitants like Sweetlips, Wrasse, Groupers, Clownfish, Lobsters, Crabs, Rudi branches and much more. In addition, there is the stunning variety of hard and soft corals, which is hard to be beat by any other place in the Indian Ocean.
Diving in the Maldives is diverse. Diving in the Maldives is adventurous. Sometimes it can be even challenging. But also we have to offer divests for every level of experience and every kind of diver will find it rewarding. Because one thing is for sure: every dive will bring a highlight.
