Once a small sleepy fishing village on the shores of the Red Sea over the years Hurghada has grown into a large touristic city.
Hurghada offer all kinds of accommodation from luxury 5 star resort villages to private apartments to basic bed and breakfast hostels in the city centre.
The city itself has a great diversity of cultures, you can explore the traditional ‘souk’ markets and haggle for prices on shishas, spices and other hand crafts, or you can enjoy top class service and locations in up market areas.
Its location with many offshore islands and reef creates perfect conditions for diving, with a large variety of dive sites from pretty sheltered coral gardens to drift dives on stunning walls.
The desert and mountains outside the city also provide some excellent opportunities for quad bike and 4x4 tours.
Hurghada is almost central between Cairo and Luxor, and day trips to both these cities are also available if you want to see some of the famous ancient Egyptian temples and artifacts.
With its own international airport getting to Hurgahda is easy with flights from all over Europe on a regular basis.
